That’s me.My name is Jason Lewis.I’m currently a student at the University of Baltimore. Majoring in English, specialization in Discourse and Technology. It’s a very cool program, as it incorporates literature and writing with graphic design, media production, and both print and digital publishing.Although writing is (and always will be) my first love, something I do because I don’t know how not to do it, I’ve also been increasingly interested in graphic design and I think I might want to get paid for something in that area one day.So what’s with the blog?Writer, student, desperately seeking employment… you’d think I’d have enough on my plate. And that’s probably true. But there’s always more to be said (or written), and keeping up a blog forces me to write things that I’ll actually finish, even if they are rather short. It also gives me an opportunity to write topical, news-related posts, as well as more personal, introspective pieces. It’s going pretty well so far.Of course, this isn’t my first attempt at blogging. I kept a blog for some time on my Myspace profile (although this is intended to supplant that one) and a long, long time ago I had a blog (my very first) that I kept up fairly regularly over at Blogger. That blog, incidentally, is part of the inspiration for the title of this blog: Caveat Scriptor. I learned some hard lessons with that one, after posting very personal thoughts and observations in a public forum. I had some readers, who probably tuned in for the drama, but I also crossed a line or six with that blog, and ended up deleting it, but not soon enough. So hence the Latin for “let the writer beware.”Feel free to comment below, I’d like this “about” page to be dynamic and participatory, like “about” pages usually aren’t.
